Grain-Free Spicy Whole Roasted Chicken

One of the things I learned on the farm, raising our own chickens, was that farm chicken isn’t easily served up as boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs. Most of the time, our home-grown chicken was served as whole, roasted chicken. This brought about the need to create different and interesting whole chicken recipes! πŸ™‚ … Read more

Grain-Free Carrot Raisin Salad

We’ve been making this salad since we were on the GAPS Diet (which we started approximately 10 years ago & were on for 3 years!). My kids love this salad. It is a nice dinner addition and quite easy to prepare. This recipe is in my GAPS Meal Plans. Grain-Free Carrot Raisin Salad Author: Brenda … Read more

I made up this Curry Chicken Salad and served it at a Norwex party at my house last week. I’ll blog more about Norwex later, my friend Erin is selling it hereΒ if you want to check them out before I get a chance to blog about them. I don’t typically like microfiber because of the … Read more

I’ve been moving the recipes from The Well Fed Homestead over to this site, because I hope that … Read more

GAPS legal Mushroom Burgers

I’ve been writing out menu plans every week, but last week I was not on top of getting things defrosted when I needed to. SO, since we still needed to eat, I had to come up with some impromptu, easy-to-defrost-and-cook-quickly meals. πŸ™‚ I came up with this dinner idea, and my family LOVED it. We will certainly be making this again! (Well, The Farmer and I LOVED the mushroom burger part of it. The kids loved the cheeseburger part of it. :))

Chocolate Peppermint Love

I am in love. Ok, first with my God, second with my husband, third with my kids, but fourth? Fourth with these lovely chocolates. πŸ™‚ Have I mentioned that I love chocolate? And that we went 9 months or so on GAPS with NO chocolate because we thought we couldn’t have it on the diet? Yes, let me tell you, it was torture. πŸ˜‰ Well, this is just what I needed to make up for those months of torture…

GAPS Legal Chocolate Honey Cake

GAPS Legal Cake!

We got 20 eggs today (WOO HOO!), so I figured I had enough to bake a CAKE! πŸ™‚

This is yummy, but if you’re a chocoholic, stay tuned for when I perfect the flourless chocolate cake I’m working on (it’s even MORE chocolatey). This is like a regular chocolate cake–not quite as rich or chocolatey as a flourless cake or a truffle or brownies. Ya know what I mean? πŸ™‚ But it’s easy, and yummy, and it isn’t too rich for guests who aren’t chocolate-crazy like normal people me. πŸ™‚
